Mountainview Small Animal Hospital is a well-established, non-corporate practice with a large, loyal client base. We operate with one golden rule: provide the exact same care to our clients' pets that we would to our own.  While we maintain a highly productive caseload, we pride ourselves on a vibrant, supportive, and close-knit team culture. Our new associate will step into an inclusive, drama-free environment backed by a well-trained, highly experienced staff.

Our Medicine & Technology

We practice in a unique, historic building full of local character.  Hand-built by neighborhood volunteers in 1959, our charming facility originally served as a community center for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. While our home has historical roots, our medicine is completely up-to-date! Our practice has been thoroughly renovated and is fully equipped with:

• Cold Laser Therapy & Cryosurgery
• Well Equipped Orthopedic Surgery setup
• Recently Renovated Surgery and Dental Suite
• Fully stocked In-House Pharmacy

• Integrated Telemedicine Consults: remote access to board-certified veterinary specialists. 

Work-Life Balance & Schedule

We protect your peace of mind and family time.

• Hours: Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No After-Hours: We do not see patients after hours or handle on-call emergencies.
• Holidays: We are strictly closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Education & Licensing: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) and a valid California Veterinary License (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Clinical Skills: Competency in performing thorough physical examinations, executing diagnostics, and developing effective inpatient and outpatient treatment plans.
• Client Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain exam findings, diagnostics, and treatment plans to clients, as well as compassionately guide them through end-of-life decisions.
• Medical Operations: Commitment to prescribing, monitoring, and dispensing medications safely, while maintaining thorough, efficient medical records.
• Surgical Skills: Proficiency in general surgeries (e.g., spays, neuters, laceration repairs, abscess treatments) is a plus.
• Professional Growth: We eagerly support your desire to expand your surgical skills and responsibilities as your clinical proficiency and continuing education progress.
• Collaboration: Dedication to practicing the highest standard of medicine by working collaboratively with fellow veterinarians and support staff to ensure patient care is never compromised.
